Hey, guys, first new piece in a while.

I'm a huge, huge huge fan of the Halo game series. The Master Chief represents the perfect soldier. Life for the cause, for others, with oneself only as an end to a means. That would be a hard life to live.

Cortana is the spirit and voice of the game and series. She is only a holographic A.I.; a mind, essentially. She has no real form. She, like him, exists only to serve a purpose.

Yet...they have a very unique relationship. I wouldn't call it love...I'm not sure either one of them are capable of something like that. But...they do understand each other, and they are the most important person in each other's lives. I wouldn't call it love in the traditional sense...but there is attachment.

The end of Halo 3 is about saving her. The rest of his mission is done, but the consummate soldier sets out to save the only "person" who's really important to him. I of course took some artist liberty with this. Cortana exists in his suit, being a A.I. and all, but I thought this carried a much better weight. I'm gonna paint this. It may take a while....but it will turn out well.

EDIT: I decided to axe the background. This was designed to be a portrait, and I think it suits it better. Also made some huge improvement to the armor on his arm, his hand, and the position of his legs. Looks much better to me.
